Fans came from all over the world to see Rick’s Picks: A Lifelong Affair With Guitars & Music at Burpee Museum in 2014. So we know there are scores of hardcore fans out there. Froggy Plutz's was a bar/club that Cheap Trick played at in the very early days. Two separate businesses now occupy the space.

March 4, 1983 — An evening with Robin Zander was held at midway during which Ralph Nielsen directed the choir. Rick also did an electric concerto with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra here. In the early summer of 1997, Cheap Trick filmed the video for "Say Goodbye" off the Cheap Trick album at Midway.

Owned by Rick's parents, the store was a favorite spot for fans to visit and feel closer to Cheap Trick and its lead guitarist.

Rick is a part-owner of this restaurant that is known for its famous "Swedes:" Swedish pancakes with lingonberries. Give Rick's Hamer guitar (painted like the Swedish flag) a strum on your way out the door for good luck.

Rick, Tom and Bun E. all graduated from this east side high school. although it is in a populated part of the city now, it was surrounded by cornfields when the band attended in the mid-to-late 1960s.

During the Rick’s Picks exhibition at Burpee Museum, many local restaurants featured Cheap Trick-inspired items. Octane’s, “Budokan Burger,” became so popular, it’s still on the menu. Lucky you because it's stiff competition for the best burger in town!
